Stadsmuseet

From Design Sprint to Prototype: Developing a Local Attractions Platform for Stockholm Stadsmuseum

About this project

This project is based on the idea that Stadsmuseet wants to involve private individuals as creators and promoters of local attractions. This includes highlighting lesser-known historical environments as well as more contemporary ones (e.g., "the buildings in Farsta").

Problems

The problem is the lack of a platform to highlight contemporary and lesser-known historical attractions.

Goals

The goal was to create a platform that enables individuals to discover, share, and validate lesser-known cultural and historical attractions in Stockholm.

Solution

The solution allows individuals to add and review lesser-known cultural and historical attractions.

Toolkit

Axure, Balsamiq, Photoshop, FigJam, Pencil and paper

Design

We started with physical mockups, focusing on integrating sound for an immersive museum experience. User flows were first sketched on post-its and later refined in FigJam. These became the foundation for our wireframes, developed in Balsamiq to visualize the app’s layout and functionality.

Test

We conducted prototype testing with a refined paper prototype. Feedback from classmates in other groups provided valuable insights, which we analyzed and discussed within the team.

Prototype

Based on the test results, we iterated on the prototype, improving usability and refining key interactions. This phase helped shape the final design, ensuring alignment with user needs.
